Hymn 389 (2nd tune)

Play music

1. Though the night be dark around us,
In the narrow way we tread;
Casting off all fear of danger,
By God's counsel safely Jed.
2 Pilgrims on the earth,and strangers
Like the fathers in the Land,
We, in their one faith united,
In their city hope to stand.
3 Strengthened always by God's presence
And the help that He doth give,
Strive we now to follow Jesus,
Perfectly as he to live.
4 Soon, as Zion's Light returning,
God's own glory he shall be:
Sun of Righteousness arising,
Healing, blessing, making free.
