The natural fleshly mind is small, cramped, petty and infantile. This is the natural condition of ALL minds, and few ever advance anything beyond this. There is no point in trying to teach the fleshly mind anything, nor to reason with it. All effort must be devoted towards inducing people (including ourselves) to GROW UP unto Christ, and to develop the breadth and beauty and nobility of the spiritual mind, by constant study of the Word, and meditation, and prayer. Many professedly (or at least presumably) on this course manifest poorer results than some unaided fleshly minds of the world. This is a bit confusing, but should not be surprising, and must not be discouraging. "They are not all Israel which are of Israel."
